SANUR
The first and classical tourist destination in Bali, where the
peaceful, natural and beautiful fishing village, white sandy beach
make the sunrise the most beautiful thing all over Bali. It is 20
minutes drive from the Ngurah Rai International Airport, 5 minutes
to the capital city - Denpasar and in short distance to other
favorite destinations and attractions in Bali.
Sanur is an important place related to Bali history, where Dutch
Army landed an expeditionary force of 2,000 men on September 1906 to
start the war with the local king and his followers which is known
as 'puputan' war - fight to the end.
"Le Mayeur" Museum
Located at Sanur Beach, this museum is the place to see Balinese
arts and histories. The museum was built by Belgian painter - Le
Mayeur who married with Balinese dancer named Ni Polok in 1932.
Sanur Art Market
It consists of two blocks at the north and south part of the
beach, where most of Balinese arts are available there. It could be
reached in 5 minutes walk along the Sanur beach side walk, where you
can find other interesting places such as restaurant, recreation and
entertainment facilities for tourist health and relaxation.
